a toast to magic
Monday, March 29, 2010 at 12:00AM
We had a little fun shooting an Alice in Wonderland theme this weekend. I have to say that my girls are pretty good sports when it comes to my photographic whims. Especially when it has to do with dress up and tea parties. Lucky me to have such willing muses!
Did you find any time to create something magical this week? Share your Best Shot.
There's another kind of magic happening this week. Picture Spring starts on Thursday! I do hope you're going to join me for some spring shutter fun.

My tween-teen boys aren't so much into cooperating photographically with mom anymore, especially were it to be an Alice in Wonderland theme. So glad your girls were because your shot is beautifully magical.
My little contribution to BSM [it's magic to me]...
Generations of Love
*squeee* for Picture Spring!
I'm sure your girls had a great time...this theme seems like so much fun!
My photo this week is called Dancing Lights - http://redvelvetconfections.com/?p=617

I'm still trying to get the Alice in Wonderland shot done but I do have a great idea in mind. Who can resist a great tea party?
In S.Texas, we get Spring before a lot of the country. Not really magic just the wonders of nature. But we love it.
What a fun idea! The children's museum here in Philly has a big Alice in Wonderland area, complete with dress up clothes, but I've never been able to get my 2 and 4 year old kids to cooperate. Once we move and get settled I need to set about building our dress-up clothes collection.
Here is my best shot from last week. Trying to make the best of being stuck out of the house for hours on end.
I love this pic! Who can resist Alice In Wonderland style tea parties?!! My BSM can be seen here http://sorayanulliah.blogspot.com
i'm afraid the alice tea party theme wouldn't go over well with the two boys at my house, so it's lovely to see what you captured :). mine, however, is all about what makes my guys happy:
happiness is...
Lucky you to have GIRLS! My boys would not understand tea parties... but they would probably LOVE to dress up like the Mad Hatter! Oh why didn't I think of that LAST week!? I'm always a step behind it seems... But I WILL be joining you in your Picture Spring class and I'm VERY excited about it!! And I don't plan on being out of step with that ;)
I took some fun shots last week and they can be seen on my blog. I am not smart enough to get my flicker link to show up here... believe me, I tried... but it does show up on my Blog! http://ladybugfamily.wordpress.com
Oh, I missed that one too, Mindy! and I have a little girl who would have (maybe) cooperated! My best shot this week is in today's blog entry . . . experimenting with black and white photos. A whole new experience!!
Ohhh...I'm planning a tea party birthday party for next week...*love* that shot and those teacups! So sweet. Well, I *should* have been planning the party, instead we enjoyed a delicious weekend around here!
Oh yes, the tea parties! We cant get enough of those. Although the sicknesses keep making the rounds, I have managed to find a couple of things to think are Magical around here.
Darling image, my children really seem to enjoy being the subject of my images and eager to learn to take pictures- a fun way to share with one another. We spent our time this weekend building a second level to the tree house. I caught my boy daydreaming
Love the teaparty photo. If only I had girls... I'm surrounded with males. I can't wait for Picture Spring to start. I just got a macro lens last week so it was perfect timing. :)
I don't know if I'd call it magical, but I'm still so in love with this shot of my brother's dog, as it's pretty much SOOC and I've been challenging myself to change up my compositions: http://www.flickr.com/photos/trudem/4459364034/ :)
I love those tea cups. Do you happen to know where they came from? My daughter wants a tea party for her birthday party and I'm looking for a cute tea set.
those teacups are charming... in every way. Split Hairs
So sweet and very magical!
Well...I did attend a concert with 3000 screaming young girls. It was magic for them:)
Dramatic B&W
What an adorable shot! I need to get my girls a tea set. ;)
Meanwhile, I am trying to figure out why I haven't been playing along with Best Shot Monday! Here's my submission (though late): http://usr-bin-mom.com/blog/2960
I am so excited for Picture Spring to start! I've also been inspired by your postings on I am Enough. In need of a daily self portrait, I rather hurriedly set up an inspired photoshoot รก la Katherine Center's body writing. The photo inspired the journal page inspired this post: http://dandelionseedsanddreams.blogspot.com/2010/03/weekly-reflection-week-13-mother.html (photo at the bottom of the post.)
Much gratitude for the inspiration to delve in deep ...
what a lovely and magical shot. they look like they ate the cake, and grew so large the tea set looks small :)
I love the tea cups! Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite!
Here is my best shot.

Love this shot. I am so excited about the start of Picture Spring. I'm all in! :) Tam
